What Is the Latest Verified Information About Gosford Hotel?
The most important verified fact is the renovation timeline. Hotel Gosford’s own history states that the property underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation in 2022 — the most significant of three major renovations in the venue’s lifetime. This renovation introduced raked ceilings, exposed brick, steel and raw concrete in the main area, and a design palette inspired by the hotel’s original 1920s character.
Regarding the star rating, the property is consistently listed as 3 out of 5 across booking platforms, though the hotel’s official site does not prominently display a star classification. One Trip.com reviewer described the accommodation as “comfortable and well‑priced for the area,” a sentiment echoed by several guests.
The distance to local attractions such as AquaSplash Inflatable Water Park is often noted in search results as 1.3 km, but this figure does not appear on the hotel’s official site or any of the third‑party sources reviewed here, so it should be treated as approximate.
What this means: The 2022 renovation is the key update, not 2024. The 3-star rating is consistent across platforms, but the exact distance to the water park lacks an official source.
What Should Readers Know First About Gosford Hotel?
Key amenities and room features
All rooms at Hotel Gosford are air-conditioned and include a television, tea and coffee facilities, and a bar refrigerator, according to the hotel’s accommodation page. Free Wi‑Fi is provided for in‑house guests. Room types range from family rooms with private ensuite bathrooms to single rooms with shared facilities — a detail worth checking when booking.
“Our rooms have been recently refurbished, offering a traditional pub feel with modern amenities.”
— Hotel Gosford accommodation page
The same page lists 30 rooms in total, while several third‑party platforms (momondo, Trip.com) report 29 rooms. This discrepancy remains unresolved — neither the hotel nor the platforms have offered an explanation. Two reviewers on Trip.com specifically mentioned that the room they stayed in was “clean and newly renovated,” supporting the claim of refurbishment.
Function and event capabilities
The hotel can host functions for between 10 and 120 people, according to Cvent’s venue directory. Conference facilities include a registration room, conference room, boardroom, and kitchen. The hotel’s own website promotes birthday parties, weddings, corporate events, and school gatherings. In the sports bar, The Saloon, large‑screen sport is shown seven days a week.
“Having recently undergone a multimillion-dollar renovation in 2022, the new Hotel Gosford is set to reimagine the local pub experience.”
— Hotel Gosford official website
The bottom line: The hotel offers a solid range of amenities and function options, but the room‑count discrepancy and occasional noise complaints are trade‑offs to factor into your decision.
